#SIDPJE2025
THEME:
“Knowledge intersections for safe and effective sports promotion”
Overview
Positive Development through Sport is a current phenomenon that has been explored in different countries in North America, Europe and also in Portugal and Brazil. Based on recent research, multiple initiatives have been undertaken with the aim of increasing the quality of young people's development experiences and preparing sports professionals for these challenges. This seminar has established itself as a leading forum for debate, bringing together researchers, coaches, managers and other players from different contexts such as Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Brazil. The event is one of the few specific seminars on this subject in the world, and is essential in order to advance knowledge and inform the practices of sports agents in these contexts. The fifth edition will be held for the second time in Latin America, following the themes covered in previous events and discussing the nuances of the Brazilian context for sports training, involving the following topics:
-
Pedagogical models that enable the inclusion of children, young people and adults through sport;
-
Sports policies in the development of life skills through sport;
-
The role of parents, managers and other sports agents in the development of young people through sport;
-
Training coaches in the positive development of young people;
-
Promoting mental health and social justice and intervention strategies through sport.
